Itinerary

Day of arrival.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by an Omura representative who will transfer you to your hotel. There, you will be given time to settle in before a meet and greet with your guides. In this meeting, we will brief you on what to expect on Mount Kilimanjaro and answer any last-minute questions you may have. After the briefing, we recommend an early night for an early pick-up the following day.

Day 1.

Arusha National Park

Your safari begins with a day trip to the Arusha National Park just a short drive from your hotel and home to the Ngurdoto Crater. Today you will have the opportunity to see the Colobus Monkey as well as many of Tanzania's birds. The park offers its visitors additional activities that you will need to book in advance such as a canoeing trip on Lake Momella.

Day 2.

After breakfast, your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and drive the 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire National Park receives its name from the major water source for the wildlife who reside within the park, the Tarangire River. During today's drive, you will have the chance to see giraffes, elephants, lions, antelopes, leopards, zebra's, warthogs, buffaloes, and an extensive collection of exotic birds. Baobab trees, known as the tree of life, can be seen throughout the park and especially along the Tarangire River.

Day 3.

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, your safari journey continues as you drive towards Lake Manyara Nation Park. Lake Manyara is located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley and its landscape is made up of a large shallow soda lake (alkaline lake) that attracts large flocks of flamingos. During today's drive, you will have the chance to see Manyara's famous tree-climbing lions, elephants, and flamingos.

As evening sets you will be driven to your accommodation location where you will be served dinner and can settle in for the night.

Day 4.

Lake Eyasi

After breakfast, you continue to Lake Eyasi. Here you will have the opportunity to meet members from the Hadzabe and Datoga Tribe. The tribal members will introduce you to their way of living and give you a tour of their lands. During this visit, Omura recommends that you wear enclosed footwear and long pants to protect your leg from the bushes.

Day 5.

Ngorongoro National Park

During today's drive, you will experience a picturesque caldera with abundant wildlife as you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. After a lunch break, you will continue into the Serengeti National Park where you will enjoy amazing views and get up close to the wildlife. Today you will have the chance to see Africa's Big Five. You will arrive at your accommodation where you will be served dinner and can settle in for the night.

Day 12.

Lake Natron

Today you will have the opportunity to visit the Engero Sero waterfalls before returning to Arusha. Lake Natron is a mineral-rich soda lake in northern Tanzania, at the border with Kenya. It's a breeding ground for hundreds of thousands of lesser flamingos, despite the highly alkaline state of the striking red waters. It sits below Ol Doinyo Lengai, a soaring active volcano in the Rift Valley. After spending time at the waterfall you will begin the drive back to Arusha and return to your hotel for dinner.

Final Day.

At your required time an Omura vehicle will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your next destination. If you have additional time we recommend you extend your stay. Omura offers safari packages to see nature at its finest or maybe a relaxing beach trip to Zanzibar.
